Turkish Delight with Olive and Walnut

Hello Dear Friends,

The first recipe of the week came to my mind at 5 o'clock this morning. Turkish delight with olives and walnuts :) The difference from my favorite walnut Turkish delight is that it has lots of olives in it. It may also be that it takes half a glass of water less flour because I knead it in the mixer. Of course, the ratio may vary slightly depending on your flour and cup size.

While preparing Turkish delights, remember that the dough is constantly fermented and expanded. For this reason, do not stick to each other too much when placing them on the clamped mold or tray. If you arrange them with slight spacing, they will cook better without getting stuck while fermenting and cooking.

I did not reshoot the construction stages because for those who are wondering Turkish delight filled with walnut You can take a look at my recipe. As an alternaive Turkish Delight with Bulgur You can also try my recipe.

How to Make Turkish Delight with Olive and Walnut Recipe?

  1. Add yeast and sugar to 2 glasses of warm water and mix. Wait about 10 minutes for the yeast to activate. (Yeast will foam)
  2. Take the flour in a deep bowl or the kneading chamber of the mixer. Open the middle, add the water you mixed with the yeast, olive oil and 1 pinch of salt and knead a soft dough. (If the dough is too sticky at this point, you can add half a cup of flour little by little)
  3. Cover the kneaded dough with cling film and let it rest for 30-45 minutes.
  4. While the dough is resting, pit the olives and chop the walnuts.
  5. Divide the tripled dough into 3 parts. Take the first piece on the oiled counter, apply a little more olive oil on it and roll it out with the help of a roller.
  6. Sprinkle walnuts and olives on the rolled dough and make a roll. Cut the roll into equal pieces.
  7. Do the same for the other two meringues and place the Turkish delight on the tray or circle mold that you have greased.
  8. Cover the dough and rest for 15 minutes.
  9. Brush the egg yolk on the Turkish delights with a brush before placing them in the oven. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until golden brown.
