A Delicious Alternative: Roasted Beet Stalk

Discovering new tastes is always very exciting for me, we have such a wide and delicious cuisine that I always come across different flavors. This delicious recipe, in which the leaves and stems are valued, has actually been made in villages for many years.

I had read it before, but I could not find the opportunity to try it because I could not see fresh beets sold with such stems. I guess it's because there's no way it's that fresh to us in big cities.

While visiting the Gökova market, instagram story Recipes started to come from my followers because I threw them in. When I said pickles, salads, pastas, briskets, I finally roasted the stems :)

A Delicious Alternative: How to Make Roasted Beet Stalk Recipe?

  1. Separate the beets and stems from each other. Separate the leaves from the stems and wash them thoroughly.
  2. Chop beets and stems, peel 1 beet and cut into cubes.
  3. Chop the onion and fry it in olive oil.
  4. Add the beet stalks and continue frying. Add the diced beetroot and fry.
  5. Add the last leaves, pinch by pinch, and continue roasting.
  6. Add the spices and crushed garlic and cook until soft.
  7. Let the cooked beet stalks rest until they reach room temperature and serve with strained yogurt.
