Onion peeling and slicing techniques

We can chop the onion in 2 main ways to use it in meals and salads. One of them is to chop piyaz (that is, in the form of a half moon), and the other is to eat (to cut into cubes).

We can use piyaz onion in meals, especially if we are sautéing vegetables and meat.
We can use the cubed onion in shepherd's salad or different salad recipes by reducing the cubes.

What can we do to prevent our eyes from burning while peeling onions?

The first and oldest of these is to take the cutting board near the sink and turn on the water and chop the onions.

The second and most practical thing is to keep the peeled onions in the refrigerator. Your eyes won't burn while chopping cold onions.

1. For easier peeling of the onion, cut off the root ends. 2. Make a vertical cut along the onion from any part of the onion skin, then peel off the skin.
3. Another method for peeling onions easily is to cut the root ends, cut them in half and peel the skins off. (If you are going to chop your onion for food, it is enough to cut 1 root) 4. Chopping scatter: Hold the onion, which you have peeled and cut into 2 parts, with the rounded surface facing up and cut into thin slices lengthwise.

5. To cut into cubes: Cut the onion, which we cut in half, into 3 horizontal parts without cutting the root part. 6. To prevent the onion from falling apart, cut it vertically into 3 parts without cutting it to the root.

7. Now chop the onion at intervals of 1 cm. You can widen or narrow the chopping range to chop your onion into larger or smaller cubes.
