Banana Jam and Banana Poppy Cake

I enjoy making new experiments. These days when I start preparing for winter, I buy lots of fruit and work on different recipes. Banana jam or marmalade is one of these experiments.

The color of banana jam is not very yellow, but it is an indisputable fact that it is delicious and light. You can consume it in the morning for breakfast or use it as an additive to cakes and pies. If you want it to last for a long time, you should definitely store it in the refrigerator.

I wrote the recipe of both the jam and the cake together so that you can try the cake while you are making the marmalade.

How to Make Banana Jam and Banana Poppy Cake Recipe?

  1. Rinse the bananas and squeeze lemon over them.
  2. Put the sugar and water in a saucepan and boil it on medium heat until it gets a thick consistency.
  3. Add the banana, cloves and cinnamon to the thickened sugar water.
  4. Cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring in between.
  5. When it thickens, take it off the heat and pour it into the jar. When cool, close the lid and store in the refrigerator.

For the Banana Poppy Cake:

Ingredients for Banana Jam and Banana Poppy Cake Recipe

3 pieces of eggs
1 cup of banana jam
Half a glass of granulated sugar
1 packet of vanillin with sugar
1 package baking powder
3 water glass flour
1 glasses of yoghurt
1 teaspoons of oil
3 teaspoons ground poppy

How to Make Banana Jam and Banana Poppy Cake Recipe?

  1. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add the banana jam and all the other ingredients and mix first at low speed and then at high speed until a completely homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  3. Grease your cake mold and pour the mixture into the mold. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
  4. Since it is a dense cake, make sure to check with a toothpick whether it is cooked or not.
  5. Remove the cooled cake from the mold and serve by slicing.
