New Year's preparations and plans started small. This month, I will try to share special recipes for New Year's Eve as much as I can :)

Pilaf is one of the indispensables of our New Year's tables, but I think you have not tried this recipe, which is very rich in flavor and appearance.

Basmati, one of the aromatic types of rice, Its elongated structure and almost twice its length when cooked make it very interesting.

Basmati rice can be cooked as plain rice or used as a side dish as I do. Especially, turmeric and curry are the most commonly used spices when cooking basmati rice.

Ingredients for Basmati Rice with Turmeric and Vegetables

  • 750 gr Basmati Rice (2,5 cups)
  • 10 g turmeric (2 teaspoons)
  • 200 g mushrooms
  • 200 g carrots
  • 100 g peas
  • 50 gr Sana Butter Flavor + 2 tablespoons for sautéing mushrooms
  • Salt, pepper
  • 4 cup of hot water

How to Make Basmati Rice with Turmeric and Vegetables?


  1. Boil the carrots and peas in boiling water for 15-20 minutes, chop the boiled carrots into pea-sized pieces.
  2. After removing the stems of the large mushrooms, wash and slice them (you can slice the small ones with the stems.)
  3. Pour 2 tablespoons of margarine into the pan, add mushrooms and sauté. Before removing from the stove, add the peas and carrots, mix carefully 1-2 times, sauté the carrot and peas and take them aside from the stove.
  4. You Take the Butter flavor in the pot. Add the washed and drained rice and fry it until the rice becomes transparent.
  5. Mix turmeric with 1 glass of hot water and add it to the rice. Add the remaining water and salt according to your taste, mix for the last time and cook the rice on low heat until the water is absorbed.
  6. Cover the bottom of the rice that absorbs its water, add the sauteed vegetables when it is brewed and serve by mixing.
