This recipe makes 2 medium sized ramadan pitas. The most important thing when preparing your pita is to wait for it to ferment well. If you do the kneading, fermentation, trace and re-fermentation processes, you will get delicious pitas.


When you use egg yolk whisked with yogurt for the top, you get a thin and not too hard fried crust.



Ingredients for Ramadan Pita with Eggs

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 pack of Pakmaya Instant Yeast
  • 1 tea spoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • 80 g yoghurt
  • 1 medium egg
  • 200 ml of water (1 cup)

For the top:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of yoghurt
  • black seed

How to Make Ramadan Pita with Eggs Recipe?

  1. Put the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in the mixing bowl.
  2. Add yoghurt, water and egg on top and knead a dough that will not stick to the hand and the bowl.
  3. After the dough has a consistency, take it to the kitchen counter and knead for another 4-5 minutes.
  4. Cover the dough you kneaded and let it rise for 40 minutes.
  5. Divide the leavened dough into 2 parts and roll them both to the size of a pita.
  6. Spread the yogurt you whipped with egg yolk on them and trace with your fingers.
  7. Leave it to ferment in the tray for 25-30 minutes after giving a trace.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes until it is well browned.
