We started the new year pretty well.

We got together with our friends. We set up a colorful and cheerful New Year's table :)

stuffed leaves with olive oil

Let's come to the subject of our article, like you, I tried to prepare a New Year's table in line with my possibilities and time.

I started my journey with a 1,5 kilo chicken last year, and this year I continued with a 3,5 kilo chicken. Although I was afraid at first that it would not cook, the result was very nice and delicious.

at the table pie pastry, liberal, amulet pastry with labneh, carrot tarator, pumpkin hash, spicy crush, patlıcan salatası, russian salad, olive oil stuffed leaves, meatballs, celery salad, seasonal saladWe had the cherry cheesecake and of course the New Year's Chicken.

Apart from the ones I used last year and previous years, a few more were added to the New Year decorations I used. Your dinner set is KRC, which I bought 4 years ago. I bought the center table ornament from Boyner this year.

I used my chicken choice for Banvit Roaster. The chicken I bought had a cooking kit and the oven bag fit the large size of the chicken. My advice to you is to make sure that the chicken and the cooking bag are the same size.

Thanks again to all friends who accompanied us on this beautiful day.

Love…

New Year's Chicken Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (3,5 kilos)
  • half an onion
  • 1 oven bag

For the stuffed rice:

  • 3 cups of rice
  • 1 tea glass of olive oil
  • 2 small onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1,5 pack of currants
  • 2 packages of pine nuts
  • 1 pinch of parsley
  • Allspice
  • Black pepper
  • Cardamom
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt

For frying:

  • 2 meal spoon tomato paste
  • 1 tea glass of olive oil
  • salt

Making New Year's Chicken:

  1. Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic,
  2. Put the olive oil in the pan, fry the onion and garlic, add the pine nuts close to the pink color of the onion to the onions and fry the peanuts until they turn pink.
  3. Add the rice and fry for 3 minutes. Finally, add the currants, spices and 3 cups of water.
  4. Cook on medium heat until the rice absorbs its water, remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  5. When your rice is warm, stuff it into the chicken.
  6. Mix the ingredients for the stir-fry sauce in a bowl and rub into the breast and thighs of the chicken.
  7. Place the Roaster in the cooking bag, tie the mouth of the bag tightly with fireproof wire and poke a few holes in the bag with a fork.
  8. Bake for 200 hours in a preheated 2 degree oven. Serve hot.

Is it okay if we don't add it to the cardamom?

It looks great. Good luck to your hands. Do you cook the chicken again, except for the rice you stuffed into it? There is rice under the serving plate. Do we prepare it additionally or cook it that way? thanks

Hello, normally 1 glass of rice is made with 1,5 glasses of water, or we make 1 to 1 in this, so the rice comes to the tooth and remains. While the chicken is raw, we fill it with half-cooked rice. Since I made it more, I put it in the bag and cooked it like that. Love…

I also wondered about cardamom. Secondly, we are two people. I think it's a 3,5 kg chicken, it would be great for us. I need to buy a smaller chicken.

Hello, Mrs. Naz, the amount of rice varies in proportion to the chicken you buy, 1- 1,5 cups of rice is enough for a small chicken. You can reduce the spices accordingly.
