Ingredients for Liar Iskender (From Ramadan Pita) Recipe

  • 500 gr beef tenderloin

For the meat marinade:

  • Half of 1 medium onion
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • salt-pepper

For the tomato sauce:

  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 cloves of garlic
  • 1 long green peppers
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 spoonful butter
  • 1 water glass of water

For service:

  • yoghurt
  • green pepper
  • 1 tomato cut into 4 equal parts
  • pickled cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

How to Make Liar Iskender (From Ramadan Pita) Recipe?

  1. Have the tenderloins sliced ​​and thinned by your butcher. Slice as in the photo and put in a deep bowl.
  2. Grate the onion and squeeze out the juice with your hands. Add the onion juice to the meat along with the olive oil.
  3. Add salt and ground black pepper and mix well. Cover with cling film and rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  4. For the sauce, remove the seeds from the pepper, finely chop with the garlic. Peel the skins of the tomatoes, pass them through the blender and puree.
  5. Take the butter in the sauce pan. Add pepper and garlic and sauté. Add the tomato and tomato paste and continue frying. Add 1 glass of water and bay leaf and cook until it thickens. Take the cooked sauce from the stove and remove the bay leaf from it.
  6. Slice the tomato, pepper and pickled cucumber for serving. Chop the Ramadan pita into cubes and divide it into serving plates.
  7. Remove the meat from the marinade and cook in a fat-free skillet (cast pan if available).
  8. Divide the sauce evenly over the pitas. Share the cooked meat on it and add the garnishes. Serve with yogurt and hot butter.
