Water Custard
Yesterday, we made our 6th live broadcast with dear Gül Fatma Koz. While we continue our conversation on many subjects from palace cuisine to marriage preparations, we have prepared a water pudding with cherry sauce for you.
Those who couldn't watch You can watch the replay here…
As the name suggests, water pudding is originally prepared with water and no milk or sugar is added to it. (Can be prepared quickly with half a glass of starch in 4 glasses of milk) Instead, a sauce is prepared with rose water and powdered sugar on it.
But we made some changes to the original recipe as it did not suit our taste. We added some sugar and milk in it. This milky dessert, which is much lighter than regular pudding, is perfect for hot summer days.
If the cherry turns sour, you can make different presentations by preparing sauces with different fruits.

Ingredients for Water Custard Recipe
- 2 water glass of water
- 2 water glass milk
- half a glass of starch
- 1 cup powdered sugar
For the cherry sauce:
- 1 cup pitted cherries
- Less than 1 tablespoon of starch
- 3-4 tablespoons of granulated sugar
Fabrication:
- Add 2 glasses of milk to the pot, pour half a glass of starch on it and stir until the starch dissolves.
- Add water and sugar to the stove. Cook the pudding on medium heat, stirring, until it has a thick consistency.
- Wet the pyrex or bowls with water. Divide the custard into wet bowls. Leave on the counter until it comes to room temperature.
- For the cherry sauce, put the cherries, sugar and starch on the stove, if the juice of the cherries is low, add 3-4 tablespoons of water. Cook over low heat, stirring until thickened, and leave to cool.
- After resting in the refrigerator for 2 more hours, just before serving, turn the bowl over to the serving plate, pour cherry sauce and serve.
I looked at all the sugar-free recipes, you say sugar-free, but all of them have added sugar.
What kind of sugar-free recipes are these, have you ever had diabetes??? - :(
You can use sweetener in recipes with sugar. There are a lot of sweeteners in Dukan recipes.
Wonderful lady,
It is said that it does not increase blood sugar for dates and date molasses. My mother, a diabetic, also loves sweets, she uses palm molasses. Get well soon.
Can't we make it without sauce?
I made it and it was wonderful, but if you are not going to serve it the next day, that is, if you cannot keep it in the refrigerator for a long time, if you add a little more starch, it will be a thicker pudding, good luck!!
Hello,
Could you please give the original recipe, that is, the recipe without milk? Even the measures are enough because my wife has a milk allergy and I can't make recipes that contain milk.
Thank you for your interest in
If you make it without milk, it will be called jelly, you can also make it with fruit juices, you can make it plain and put sauce on it as in the recipe of Ms. Nilay. take it easy
My nilay looks very, very beautiful, wonderful,
Bless your hands dear

Hi nilay :) There is no cherry in this season, I can't get the same taste from frozen. I thought about making it with strawberries, but do you think I should keep the sugar and starch ratio the same?
Hello Dilan, I have a strawberry marmalade that I prepared before, you can try that recipe and prepare a delicious sauce. If you don't want it to be too sweet, you can reduce the amount of sugar. http://mutfaksirlari.com/cilek-marmelati.html love…
I made a strawberry marmalade by reducing the sugar of the same recipe by 1 spoon and adding a little water, before nilay saw her answer, and it was very delicious :) only my pudding was a little too watery. but the taste was good. god bless your hands:)
well done, what a beautiful image
What used to be a lot, right? We ate hard.
Gotta try. Health to your hands.
Yours
What kind of starch did you use?
