I shared with you yesterday cherry compoteTwo different cakes came out of it :) The first one is the sour cherry puff pastry you see right now, and the second one is a classic cocoa sponge cake recipe.

Making puff pastry is incredibly easy. There is absolutely no limit to the material you will use in it. You can fill it with pastry cream, whipped cream or custard that you can prepare in 5 minutes. Puff Pastries with Chocolate Sauce You can also check my recipe.

Ingredients for Cherry Puff Pastry Recipe

  • 6 puff pastry dough
  • 2 cups of cherries (you can use any fruit you want)
  • 1 egg (on top of white puff pastry)
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 water glass milk
  • 1 tea glass of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of flour (you can add 1 tablespoon of starch for a thicker consistency)
  • margarine for greasing the tray

To decorate:

  • Powdered sugar
  • optional chocolate sauce

How to Make Sour Cherry Puff Pastry Recipe?

  1. Take the puff pastry out of the freezer to soften. If you are going to use compost fruit, leave it in a strainer to drain.
  2. Put egg yolk, milk, sugar, flour and vanilla in a small sauce pot or saucepan and whisk well.
  3. When it is completely mixed (no lumps of flour should remain), take it to the stove and cook it on medium heat, stirring, until it has a thicker consistency than pudding.
  4. Remove the cooked cream from the heat and leave it to cool, stirring occasionally.
  5. Divide the softened puff pastry dough into two halves and place them on the greased pyrex at 1 cm intervals.
  6. Brush them with egg white and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until they swell and lightly brown.
  7. Apply the cream you have prepared on each layer of the dough and put the cherry berries, 3 . Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the layer and serve.

    Hello Miss Nilay,

    You said on egg white puff pastry, at what stage and how do we spread it?

    By the way, I tried the nutella muffin (I think the name was different - chocolate between yeast dough)-my wife-son and caretaker loved it :)

      Hello Ms. Ayşe, you can apply it just before you put it in the oven. Actually, you don't need to drive it, I used it so it wouldn't be wasted. I'm glad you like the recipe. Bon appetit. Love you :)
