I always say that whenever I prepare something that smells so bad, I think of my grandmother in the kitchen. I went into the kitchen this morning before I started work to commemorate him and all that we lost on the occasion of the oil lamp.

As the smell of halva faded, my grandmother's white cardigan, which she knitted herself, was turning left and right in the small kitchen, and I could see her squeaky messes. And my grandfather waiting for us in the living room.

halva

Anyway, when I talk about these issues too much, I turn out to be watery-eyed. For this reason, I come to how I shape halvah right away.

The mold I use is called the kömbe mold. Kömbe is also a local cookie, just like we cut cookies with cookie cutters now, they used to press and shape into this mold in the past.

The brewed and warmed halva is already very suitable for shaping, it is enough to break off 1 piece with a spoon or with your hand, press it into the mold and remove the halva by tapping the mold lightly on the plate.

I bought the mold from Tahtakale a long time ago. You can find at least 3-4 different varieties there.

May everyone be blessed.

Love…

Is this boiled plain or is it sugar and water? What if I put 2.5 glass of 1 glasses of water as milk?

I reduced the oil to half of the measure you gave me, and I cut down on the sugar a little. It was perfect as it is. By the way, yes, it is better to boil water and sugar together. You can also try it with milk. In my opinion, the main ingredient is water.

    Hello,
First of all, I wish you a blessed candle and health to your hands. I was very touched when I read what you wrote. I also thought of my grandmother, whom we sent off to eternity in the summer. He also loved flour halva, it was even his will to us, he wanted us to make flour halva after his death.
May my Lord put all our loved ones, whom we sent off to eternity, to sleep in light, and make their place heaven.

May Allah (CC) have mercy on the souls of all our dead and have mercy inshallah. Whenever my grandmother comes to mind, I cannot hold back my tears like strings. I am a very crying kid. I also use this flour halva as spoon halva. Kömbe mold is also used as kahke mold in Antep Hatay mrsin region, we pour this halva with a normal spoon.
