Ingredients for the Unleavened Pastry with Sesame

  • 1 egg (white will be added to the dough, on top of the yolk)
  • 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter (melted)
  • 1 package baking powder
  • half a teaspoon of mahaleb
  • 1 sweet spice salt
  • 1 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • half a glass of water
  • 3 water glass flour

For the top:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoons of milk
  • half a glass of sesame

How to Make Sesame Unleavened Pastry Recipe?

  1. Take the sesame seeds in a Teflon pan and roast them on medium heat until they change color and set aside.
  2. Take the egg white into a mixing bowl, add salt, sugar, mahaleb and baking powder.
  3. Add the melted butter, oil and water and mix.
  4. Add 2,5 cups of flour and start kneading. Continue adding half a glass of flour until the dough comes together.
  5. Knead the gathered dough for 1-2 more minutes and break off tangerine-sized pieces from the dough and roll them in your hand.
  6. Open the egg yolk with a little milk, brush the egg with the help of a brush and dip it in the sesame seeds you have fried and put on the baking tray. With the help of a knife, give a plus shape to the tops.
  7. Bake in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
