Spanish Omelette-Tortilla De Patatas
Last week, we were guests at the house of dear Clara, and she prepared one of the traditional delicacies of her country, namely tortilla de patatas. Since there were people from many countries and cultures at home, it was very colorful on our sofa :)
Spanish omelette A delicious recipe as well as practical. The only difficulty is to turn the plate with the other side, which really takes some mastery. You can easily consume it for breakfast, afternoon tea, or dinner. Next a light salad with avocado if you prepare it, don't enjoy it :)

For the rest of the day, I'll be packing for our trip to Africa.
See you tomorrow, loves.
Ingredients for Spanish Omelet-Tortilla De Patatas Recipe
- 3 potato
- 1 onion
- 4 pieces of eggs
- 3 tablespoons of oil
- 2 spoonful butter
- salt-pepper
Fabrication:
- Peel the skin of the potato and cut it into rings less than half an inch. If the rings are large, divide them in the middle to form a half moon shape. Chop the onion into small pieces.
- Put the butter and oil in the pan and melt them over low heat. Add the potatoes and onions to it.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are soft.
- Beat the eggs well in a large and deep bowl and add the seasonings you want. Add the softened potatoes to the egg, mix and wait for a while for the potatoes to absorb the egg.
- Grease the Teflon pan well and pour the potato and egg mixture you prepared into the pan. First, cook one side of the omelet until it separates from the pan.
- When the omelet comes out of the pan, turn it over with the help of a large serving plate and cook the other side.
- Serve warm or hot.
The most important feature of this omelet for me is that, unlike the egg with potatoes we know, the potatoes and onions are boiled in low-heat oil (preferably olive oil), their color should not turn brown. … and with sofrito sauce of course :)
yum-pat, that's what you know :) but our Spanish friend confessed that he added a different spice even though he didn't reveal his secret. No matter how hard you try, it's hard to catch the original flavor if you don't have that spice :)
It was my favorite thing to eat in Spain, it was a surprise when I saw it here. I will try tomorrow :)
My mother used to make boiled and mashed potatoes of this recipe in the village when I was a child, and it was my favorite thing. thanks
I will make it tomorrow morning, I will definitely send my comments =)
Ms. Nilay, we just made it for breakfast on Sunday morning, it was very nice. It has become an option for our guests from now on. Thanks.
It's great with zucchini, I recommend it
Greetings, my friend, how nice he thought of you, he gave the recipe, what do you criticize, whether you want to make it or not :)
I'm making a variation of this recipe, I don't just put onions in it, I also fry the potatoes with low oil, break the eggs and turn them both sides and even throw them in the air :)) it is very nice, my wife loves it, it is indispensable for our Sunday breakfasts.
I think it's the onion-free form of the potato omelet we know.. what is the need to transfer it from the pan to the pan..
Oh, eggs with potatoes, there's no need to worry, when the french fries increase, I break and eat eggs, the modern society one of the same :D
