Anyway, sir, I kneaded, fermented, kneaded again, I looked at the dough on the counter and thought… I saw that everything was wiped away, only the well-fermented dough remained in the kitchen. Afterwards, I lingered a little longer to enjoy the work I was doing. In the end, a simple but delicious pastry came out.

Ingredients for Strip Pastry Recipe

  • 4 cups of flour (450 g)
  • 1 cup of milk (warm)
  • 1 large egg (white into dough and yolk on top of pastries)
  • 50 g margarine at room temperature (there are gr measurements on the back of the package, cut accordingly)
  • Half a tea glass of olive oil (50 g)
  • 1 sweet spice salt
  • 1,5 teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 pack of instant yeast (10 g)

How to Make Strip Pastry Recipe?

  1. Take the flour in a deep mixing bowl. Add salt, granulated sugar and yeast to it.
  2. Add egg white, milk, margarine and olive oil and knead the dough until it comes together.
  3. Take the gathered dough on the counter and continue kneading for 5 minutes.
  4. Return the kneaded dough to the bowl, cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Divide the fermented dough into 10 equal parts and roll it into a meringue.
  6. Open the meringue on the kitchen counter and, with the help of a sharp knife, cut longitudinally through half of the dough.
  7. Put the cheese pilgrim on the part you did not cut and roll it by closing it towards yourself.
  8. Put the prepared pastry on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. After applying the same process to all the pastries, apply the egg yolk that you whisked with a little water or milk.
  9. After sprinkling with black cumin, bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
