Russian salad
What is the most nostalgic recipe for you? It is Russian Salad :) My uncle learned this recipe in a kitchen class while studying tourism and hotel management 50 years ago. While preparing for the exam at home, my little aunt learns from her and has been preparing for us for more than 50 years.

This salad was originally made in the 19th century by Russian chef Lucien Olivier at the Hermitage restaurant in Moscow. Although some people call it American Salad, its original appearance is this way.

Ingredients for Russian Salad Recipe
- 4 carrot
- 4 potato
- 1 small canned peas
- 10-12 pickled gherkins
For mayonnaise:
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cup of sunflower oil
- salt
How to Make Russian Salad Recipe?
- Boil the carrots and potatoes until a knife can penetrate them. Peel and chop. Chop the pickled cucumber in the same way. Drain the peas and rinse them in water. Combine them all in one bowl.
- For mayonnaise, dissolve salt in lemon juice. Separate the egg yolk and white.
- Place the egg yolk into a glass bowl.
- Turn on your mixer and pour the sunflower oil into a thin layer and add it to the egg yolk.
- Add lemon juice mixed with salt to the mayonnaise that starts to thicken and continue adding oil while whisking.
- When the taste and color reach the desired consistency, stop whisking and serve by mixing with the chopped ingredients.
