Roasted Hibiscus
Since my childhood, I have been acquainted with herbs such as labada, mallow and nettle. These medicinal herbs, which you can cook separately or together, are not consumed only by roasting. It is also made with olive oil. It is even used as a pastry or pita, just like spinach.
Even though I don't like roasting because it feels a little fresh to me, I try to consume it as much as I can.
Some of its benefits: It contains plenty of protein and vitamin C. It has anti-inflammatory and expectorant effects.
It is one of the rare herbs that city dwellers can find, but if you happen to be in organic markets, you can often encounter it. If anyone wants it and you need to buy in large quantities, I can also give you a phone call from which you can get plenty of them.
Ingredients for Roasted Hibiscus Recipe
- 1 bunch of hibiscus
- 1 medium onion
- 2-3 sweet red peppers
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1-2 tablespoons of mixed tomato paste upon request
- salt
Fabrication:
- Wash the mallows in 2-3 waters and chop the leaves coarsely and the stems finely.
- Chop the onion. Finely chop the red pepper.
- Put olive oil in a large saucepan, add the onions and fry until the onions turn pink.
- Add the chopped peppers to the onions and continue frying.
- Add the chopped mallows to this pot 2-3 times and fry them. (So, after adding 2 handfuls, roast it to death, then add 2 handfuls again, this will make it easier to roast)
- Fry the hibiscus until it releases its juice. Serve warm or cold.
If you chop leeks instead of onions, pour yoghurt with garlic while it's warm, add some hot chili peppers, you won't be able to get enough of it if you eat it with fried peppers while eating,,,, it contains plenty of minerals other than vitamin C, such as iron, zinc, potassium...
