When I said it was time to consume the oranges that had been waiting for my crisper for a long time, I realized that I desperately wanted orange jam. I started by saying today is the day.

Those who search the internet will see that there are at least 50 different ways to make orange jam. Since I have always been in favor of practical recipes, I determined a direction for myself. The result was a delicious orange jam within 2 hours.

Those who want can change their juice by boiling their oranges twice, I boiled my oranges once because I love the light taste of oranges that tickle the palate.

Orange Jam Recipe
Marmalade

When making orange jam, you need to be careful not to thicken the jam too much. Even if it looks watery 10 minutes after adding the lemon, drop 1 drop of jam on a porcelain plate or glass glass, if the jam does not flow easily, it means it has a consistency.

Remember, the jam will thicken as it cools.

I have read most of the comments, researched from several sites, the bitterness of the orange peels does not go away no matter how much you boil them. Either you will use chemicals or there is a trick! you will apply it.
    1. Peel the outermost colored part of the orange, which contains the acidic-bitter layer, thinly (like a dice) with a sharp vegetable peeler. Avoid thick peeling. You will peel thin.
    2. You will chop these peels into small pieces. What we see in this photo is unfortunately cut big. The largest 0,5×0,5 cm in the form of small squares. should be cut to size.
    3. You will boil the chopped orange peels in enough water (it should be a little bit) for 20-25 minutes. Taste while it is boiling, it should not leave a bitter taste in your mouth. If it leaves a bitter taste, you can boil it a little more. Then make your jam by following the other steps.

Hello. Thanks for your recipe. I always make orange jam every year. I put the peels of the oranges we eat into the water. They accumulate quite a bit in a few days. By the way, I change the water every day. After cutting into cubes, I boil it once. It does not have that annoying bitter taste, and it becomes soft like in orange jam. There is no need to scrape their shells.

In quince jam and hard fruits such as orange peel, do not add sugar immediately, it squeezes and makes it hard, add it instead of lowering it or when the fruit is soft.

Now I'm in Bucharest, my family wants jam. Of course, I use the same recipe. Tomorrow morning, we will explore together for breakfast. Thank you very much. I apologize for my Turkish.

I even boiled it 2 times so that it wouldn't be bitter, and then I soaked it in water for 1 night. I followed the recipe and it was intense and good, but after eating it, it tastes bitter, I think it would be better if I shaved it and it would be better if 2 oranges were chopped together with the inside, I will try it now. Now I put it in a jar. The smell is amazing. The juice of the jam was very nice, but the grains were terribly bitter. I love its acidic aroma too, but it was in this uncomfortable way. The acidic taste came out of my nose while I was eating it. My advice is to shave the outer peel on a grater as you would for orange jam. And let it stay overnight in plenty of water.

I was on leave. I had beautiful oranges at home… There was a transition from orange cake to jam… Only I did not follow some parts of the recipe. Instead of 1 glass of orange juice, I increased it to 3 glasses. I said get orange juice instead of water. It is now boiling on the stove.
While boiling the bark, it smelled very good, but it is difficult to say the same for the syrup.

In order for your jam not to be bitter, you need to peel the outer orange peel with a cucumber peeler. (You can also mix grapefruit and orange and lemon and try it.) Then chop it and put it in the pot, add the sugar on it and bring it to a boil. When it gets its consistency, squeeze the lemon, put it in jars when it is hot and close your mouth. Enjoy your meal. (I also clean the thick peel and white fibers of the orange slices.)

my ingenious nephew, I made orange jam last week, it was incredible, so your grandmother wrote the book for this jam, it's hereditary.

dear nilay, I followed the same recipe, I made my jam from the peel of the thick-skinned oranges I bought from the Saturday neighborhood market and I was amazed that as I am a jam-making disability, it turned out very well. a thousand thanks for sharing

    Hello,
I wanted orange jam for the weekend (I'm 4 months pregnant, it's not clear when I want it). While the jam was boiling, I added 10-12 cloves and a teaspoon of ginger, they gave a very pleasant flavor.
    I recommend you to try
Thanks a lot for the recipe

ehh I swear, when you have such detailed explanation and frame-by-frame photos of the production stages, I can't do it, it doesn't mean I can't succeed. Ayyyyy I can't get over my pride, I'll definitely do it, I have a jar of orange jam from last winter, but I lost its consistency, its color is dark and blurry, let me use it in my cakes and cookies, you know, let's not be wasteful in the kitchens. we need to evaluate things, let's see if mine will be as beautiful as yours????

Ayşegülcüm, I forgot to add the production steps to the photos, now I noticed and added it. We only use the peels, but we also use the peeled oranges for orange juice.

Are you peeling the rind of an orange and slicing the inside? Or is this jam made only from poortakal shells? Wouldn't it taste bitter? I was wondering?

my dear nilay, it is a very wonderful cap, a lively orange jam that I do not like orange jam, but when I saw this presentation, I decided to make it. It would be nice like that, my orange jam note: well, aren't we going to use the insides of the oranges, we'll just make them with their peels, is it okay if we mix them?
