Polenta is a side dish I met at school. At school, we used to prepare it using only hot water and fresh spices and serve it with fish dishes. Although it formed a whole with fish, its taste seemed very bland to me when tasted alone.

When I tried the polenta prepared by mixing mozzarella cheese in Antalya holiday, I decided to prepare it by adding cheese when I returned home. Although it resembles setting with cheese and butter, it is definitely not like ours.

The main ingredient is cornmeal (must be coarsely ground), you can buy 200 gr packages from Makro Center (corn semolina is written on the packages).

polenta making

As soon as the polenta is cooked in its original service, it is transferred to a large wooden tray and cooled. The cooled polenta is sliced using string and served.

I like to shape it with an ice cream scoop because I like the way it looks. If you want to serve the polenta by shaping it as I did, you should definitely do it while it is hot because it freezes as it cools. Of course, you can spread it on a tray while it is hot and cut it with cookie cutters when it cools down, and you can present it in different presentations.

If you want to serve a different side dish to your guests alongside meat and fish dishes with sauce, I would definitely recommend you to try it.

Love…
