Village Pepper and Cheese Menemen
It seems like evening has come so quickly today… I wrote, I am writing, I am going to write, but I realized that it was evening. It was a strange weather again in dear Istanbul, the daily sunny morning suddenly turned into a storm. Electricity and water went out, windows rattled. When Istanbul becomes so unstable, it also stuns us who breathe its air, it puts an extra burden on you. I can only say that I vaguely remember the phone calls I made in the first hours of the day.
If they ask what is Top 3 in egg dishes, I would say 1- Menemen 2- Egg with Potatoes 3- Poached Bread. After the breakfast we had at Emirgan Sütiş on the weekend, I decided that white cheese goes very well with menemen. They only put cheese in normal menemen, but we decided to make a sweet intervention at home to increase this taste by 1 click.
In this, we used the last 2 village tomatoes and the village peppers we roasted. It was so delicious that I don't think I can easily eat menemen outside anymore. Of course, it can be eaten alone, not only for breakfast, but also for a different meal.
Before I finish my article, I would like to share a small kitchen secret with you. For an effortless peeling of the roasted peppers, place them on a plate while they are hot and cover with cling film. The peppers will be easily peeled thanks to the steam they stay in.
Love…
Ingredients for Village Pepper and Cheese Menemen Recipe
- 4 pieces of eggs
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 3 medium sized green peppers, roasted
- 1 slice of light white cheese
- 2 tablespoons oil
- salt
- black pepper
- thyme and red pepper flakes upon request
Instructions
- Wash the tomatoes and chop them in the size of backgammon dice. (You can remove the seeds and juice if you want, but I like the sourness of the juice) Peel the roasted peppers and chop them in the size of the tomatoes.
- Take the oil in the pan, heat it up a little, add the tomatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Before the tomatoes are crushed, add the peppers and mix 1-2 times.
- Chop the cheese coarsely with your hands and throw it into the pan. Crack the eggs in a separate bowl, beat them with a fork and add them to the pan.
- Season with salt, pepper and spices, cook to the desired consistency over medium heat and serve.
I think the onion-free menemen is better. Unfortunately, everyone's taste is different. good luck
such nice and clear recipes are given, and it is very nice to give the puff points
very nice sharing site
Your recipes are very good and consist of easily accessible ingredients. I get positive feedback from what I do. Thank you. By the way, I think there is green pepper in the menu, it was not included in the ingredients. Did you consider it optional?
hello, I am a close follower of your site, the menemen looks very nice, I will make it right away, thank you
Hello,
As we see, you did not choose onions. Onion also makes it taste very good, but of course not everyone prefers it.
We will also make creamy breasts and publish them in the coming days. We especially like the way yours looks.
health to your hands,
good luck to you
of course it's up to everyone's choice
Good evening... I couldn't see cheese in the recipe.. I wonder what kind of cheese you preferred and at what stage did you use it... well done :)
I used light white cheese and added it to the recipe. Love…
looks great, good luck. I have only one question, am I too tired or is the cheese forgotten? :)
Hello, the problem is due to my tiredness :) I made the correction. Love…
