Right now, I am writing this recipe to you from Kastamonu Clock Tower :) The view of Kastamonu Castle and the city lights are creating a visual feast.

Local foods

Tonight we were at Kastamonu Kitchen, run by Nur & Mustafa Özgem, just like last night. We have been enjoying pleasant conversations and delicious food for two days. Potato trotter recipe is a practical and delicious local delicacy, tomorrow evening I will share with you Mustafa Özgem's simit tiridi recipe. I definitely recommend you to stop by when you come to Kastamonu.

Ingredients for Potato Pancakes Recipe

  • 3 medium boiled potato
  • 2 pieces of eggs
  • Yoghurt (half of a grated potato)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Butter with sauce (mixture of tomato paste, butter and red pepper)

How to Make Potato Pancakes Recipe?

  1. Boiled potatoes are grated, 2 cloves of crushed garlic are added into the yogurt as half of the grated pataes.
  2. The grated potatoes are taken into the pan, 2 eggs are broken into the garlic yoghurt and the yogurt mixture is added to the potatoes and cooked, stirring, over medium heat until the egg is completely cooked and disappears.
  3. Tomato paste, butter and red pepper are roasted in the sauce. Cooked potatoes are placed on a serving plate and poured on a buttery sauce and served hot.
