Hello Dear Friends,

Omelette is one of the subjects that I want to write to the culinary school section for a long time. OmletteAn egg dish made by whisking whole eggs and cooking them in a pan. Since it is one of the recipes that seem very easy but often ends in disappointment for novices, I think it is the right place for culinary school.

Omelettes It can be cooked only by adding eggs or milk, milk cream. Omelets can be served while cooking or by adding different garnishes after cooking.

Although it is not seen in our kitchen, sweet omelets prepared with fruits such as salt water are also made. The only example from us that I have tried slickA type of omelet served with molasses. (We can also give an example of sweet omelets made with sautéed apple filling and sprinkled with sugar.)

You can also serve your omelets flat, folded or rolled.

You can see different types and presentations in these recipes.

It is enough to follow certain tricks to make fluffy omelets or thin omelets.

Tips for Making an Omelet:

  1. The eggs you use must be fresh.
  2. Omelettes should be prepared with an average of 2-3 eggs. (This number may increase depending on the number of people or the size of the ceiling you will use)
  3. If you want to make a thin or medium omelet, the eggs should not be beaten too much. For whisking, a fork should be preferred instead of a whisk.
  4. The pan to be used while making an omelet should not be thick-bottomed. If you want to cook both sides by turning, non-stick surface should be preferred. If you are not successful in turning, a spatula should be used.
  5. Butter or plain oil should be preferred when making omelets.
  6. The amount of oil is very important when making an omelet, if you put less oil in the pan, the omelette will stick and fall apart, if you put too much oil, it will be shapeless and greasy. For a medium-sized pan, 1 tablespoon is sufficient at most, if it is too much or if you cannot oil the entire pan, you can rub the melted oil on the surface of the pan with the help of a napkin.
  7. Omelettes are usually served hot or even very hot. For this reason, if you are going to serve it with a side dish, you should prepare it beforehand and start cooking the omelet after this preparation.
  8. Omelettes served by folding are among the most preferred ones. For this reason, care was not taken to ensure that the bottom surface of the omelet does not get too colorful, and the upper surface should be kept slightly moist. If it is to be served with a side dish, the garnish should be sprinkled on half of the omelet and quickly folded and served hot.

  3. Pour the beaten egg mixture into the pan and spread it evenly over the surface of the pan.
