flour cookie making

Ingredients for Oktay Usta's Flour Cookies Recipe

  • 250gr room temperature margarine
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • 4-5 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 4-5 tablespoons of wheat starch
  • 1 packaged vanilla
  • As much flour as you get
  • cocoa if desired
  • powdered sugar to sift over

How to Make Oktay Usta's Flour Cookies Recipe?

  1. Take margarine, oil, powdered sugar in a bowl and knead well. Add the cornstarch and vanilla and mix.
  2. Make a dough by slowly adding the flour as much as it takes. (Flour takes about 4-4,5 cups.)
  3. If you want your cookies with cocoa, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa to the dough and knead the dough so that it remains mottled, but you should not knead it too much. (I made some of it with cocoa and some of it plain)
  4. Roll the dough, scratch it with a fork and cut it obliquely.
  5. Place on a paper-lined tray and leave in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Bake in an oven at 160 degrees until it remains white.
  6. When you take it out of the oven, sift a lot of powdered sugar on it.

Estimated how many minutes it will cook. My oven has numbers as 1 2 3 4 5 6. I wonder how many degrees should I choose, when I try it for the first time.

It will be healthier to read the user manual of your oven and look at the temperature degrees corresponding to the numbers. The time may vary in each oven.
