Halloumi Cheese Menemen
Hello Dear Friends,
I had a short tour of Cyprus before Ramadan. On the way back, I bought 1-2 packs of halloumi cheese so that it can find its place. I was surprised to see the less salty halloumi called light because I have never come across it in Istanbul. Anyway, as soon as I tasted it, I liked it very much. It is really not overly salty and the flavor was very good.
I wanted to share this recipe that you can prepare for breakfast or sahur (because it is less salty) at night :) I think you should definitely make menemen when delicious tomatoes are on the market. Earlier how to make menemen video I also shared. Those who missed it can watch it here. Also my youtube channel don't forget to subscribe.
It goes great with different cheeses with less salt. keep in mind.
Love…
Ingredients for Halloumi Cheese Menemen Recipe
- 4 pieces of eggs
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 3 capsicum peppers
- 2-3 slices of light halloumi cheese
- 2 tablespoon of olive oil
- salt
- black pepper
- Red pepper
Instructions
- Cut the halloumi cheese into thick slices and fry it on the grill or in butter. Finely chop the cooked cheese.
- Wash and grate the tomatoes. (You can remove the seeds and juice if you want, but I like the sourness of the juice) Finely chop the peppers.
- Take the olive oil in the pan, add some peppers and fry them, add the tomatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Crack the eggs in a separate bowl, beat them with a fork, add them to the pan and mix quickly.
- Season it with salt, pepper and spices, add cubes of halloumi cheese, cook it on medium heat to your desired consistency and serve.
thank you for your nice work :)
