Yesterday, my wife and I went to Istanbul 2010 Ahırkapı Hıdrellez Festival. We also met many friends who came there to have fun and take pictures without knowing each other.
The festivities were very enjoyable, but the traffic was incredibly locked up. It took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the festival area, and our return was not much less than that. The parking issue is of course different.
There were food stands, speed puppets and colorful event tents at the event. I took a lot of photos, you can find it at the end of the recipe.
People's joy and spring enthusiasm was worth living and suffering to get there. Some of them danced the halay, some of the horon kicked in, some of them continued to dance with the air of a novel. One of the bands (unfortunately I can't remember the name) that appeared on the small stage sang the balkan air "ramo" very well.
When we got home at around 12:30, I realized that I didn't make my wishes under my little rose tree and immediately scribbled something :) It was a beautiful night, I hope next year we will celebrate the 2011 hidrellez there.
Celery was a vegetable that my wife did not like at all, but recently she started to eat it with pleasure thanks to the little decorations I made. I always add some apple zest in this salad so you don't have to add extra sugar and sweeten it. I definitely recommend you to try it.

Ingredients for Celery Salad with Mayonnaise
- 1 large celery celery
- half of an apple
- 8 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tea spoon salt
How To Make Celery Salad With Mayonnaise?
- Peel and grate the celery and apple.
- Crush the garlic thoroughly, adding salt.
- Mix the grated apple, celery, mayonnaise and garlic in a large bowl.
- Cover the bowl with cling wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
- Serve when the garlic flavor in the salad becomes evident.
Reduce the mayonnaise and add the strained yoghurt sold in BİM. In addition, grate some of the red cabbage to give it a nice color, add it to the salad and mix it. Of course, do not forget to add lemon and olive oil, otherwise the salad will not look like a salad.
I make it with yoghurt and little mayonnaise, but with finely ground walnuts.
When you make it with garlic yogurt instead of mayonnaise, it tastes crazy. I highly recommend it^^
If we reduce the mayonnaise and add yoghurt instead, it will be healthier.

We made a celery salad with mayonnaise before we went to Hıdırellez last year. There was a lot of traffic and it was very crowded but it was very nice :)
super salad, but it has calories, you know, I can simplify it with yogurt, maybe good luck to you :)
