Our latest recipe is Potato Gratin with Labneh. When I wanted to try this recipe, which I normally make with cream, with Labneh, I did not know that the result could be this delicious.

Friends who have a question mark about cream can easily try this recipe with labneh cheese.

You don't have to use nutmeg, but I recommend you try it, it's a spice that goes well with potatoes and mashed potatoes.

Muscat – Also called nutmeg or nutmeg. You can buy nutmeg as seeds (walnut size) from herbalists or big markets, or you can buy it as powder.

Ingredients for Labneh Potato Gratin Recipe

  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 1 pack Labneh
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • Salt

Fabrication:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into half-inch thick rings. Grate the garlic.
  2. Grease your baking dish. Arrange the potatoes in 1 row and spread the labneh on it. Sprinkle some garlic, nutmeg and salt.
  3. Follow the same process until the potatoes and labneh are finished. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until the potatoes are soft (approximately 25 minutes).
  4. Take the aluminum foil off the potatoes. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on the labneh potatoes.
  5. Bring the oven to 200 degrees, bake until your food is browned as in the photo and serve hot.

Will the potatoes be in one row or in layers? It looks like several layers in the photo.

This is how it looks when you arrange the slices halfway across. One line, but slightly above each other.
