There are many flavors such as cinnamon, allspice, turmeric and mahaleb in the Caucasian donut mortar. Although it is usually used as a dough for sweet buns, I also like to use these flavors in savory buns.
That's why I decided to make a ground beef bun portion. The result was great.
After fermenting the dough, you can portion it and shape it as you wish. I used a muffin tray, but you can also shape it by hand or use different cups.

Ingredients for Meat Bun Pie Recipe
- 1 pack of Pakmaya Leavened Caucasian Bun Mortar
- 500 g flour
- 1 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 50 ml oil
- 80 ml of warm milk
- 130 ml of warm water
- 1 tea spoon salt
- 1 egg white
Minced meat:
- 250 gr mince
- 2 tablespoon of peanuts
- 2 tablespoons of currants
- 1 onion
- salt
- black pepper
For the above:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoons of sesame seeds
How to Make Meat Bun Pie Recipe?
- Sift the flour into a deep mixing bowl, add the mortar and mix well. Add sugar, milk, oil, salt and egg white.
- Start kneading by adding water little by little. Knead for about 10 minutes until you get a smooth and slightly sticky dough.
- Then cover the dough and let it rest for half an hour.
- While the dough is fermenting, add a little salt to the chopped onion for its filling and fry it with butter. Add the peanuts and fry until lightly browned.
- Add the minced meat, grapes, salt and pepper, knead until the minced meat releases its juice and remove from the stove.
- Knead the dough lightly, break off tangerine-sized pieces. Grease the muffin tray and shape the dough pieces by pressing them into the molds.
- Divide the minced meat into the dough that you have opened in the middle.
- To cover the filled buns, break off walnut-sized pieces from the dough and roll them out with a rolling pin and cover them on top of the dough.
- Make a hole in the lids with the bowl so that they can breathe and apply egg yolk.
- Bake in 180 preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes.
- When the baked buns are completely cooled, remove them from the mold and serve.
