Remember, you have to fill the jars while the tomatoes are very hot for vacuuming. You can use a towel or oven mitts to avoid burning your hands. After tightly closing the jars, turn them upside down and leave them overnight.

Ingredients for Winter Tomato Sauce Recipe

  • 5 kilos of Canakkale tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tea glass of olive oil

  • 2 liters of ice water

For canning:

  • 5 jars of 750 g
  • Unused jar lids suitable for jars

How to Make Winter Tomato Sauce Recipe?

  1. Make cross-shaped scratches on the tops of the tomatoes with the help of a knife.
  2. First, throw it into boiling water, hold it in boiling water for 40-50 seconds and immediately throw it into ice water.
  3. Peel the peeled tomatoes by hand and cut them into cubes.
  4. Put the tomatoes in the pot and add salt to it and cook for 1,5 hours on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  5. 10 minutes before removing the tomatoes from the stove, add the olive oil and mix.
  6. Divide the tomatoes into clean jars as soon as you turn off the stove. Cover the jars with unused lids that you have washed and dried.
  7. Invert the jars and let sit until the sauces have cooled completely.
  8. Remove the cooled and vacuumed tomato sauces to a stream out of the sun.
