The dough of cracked cocoa cookies does not look like the cookie dough we are used to. It is a little runny compared to normal cookie dough, but the thing that makes it spread and crack in the oven is that the dough is like this.

black and white cookies

It crumbles in your hand while kneading, this is definitely the consistency of the dough. So definitely don't panic and add flour. When your dough starts to disperse well, make it into a ball and rest it by wrapping it with cling film. In this way, it will be easier to make small balls and sprinkle them in powdered sugar.

Instead of making the dough with oil, you can use 4-5 tablespoons of butter. In this way, you can make a more bulk dough.

Ingredients for Cocoa Crackle Cookies Recipe

  • 2 water glass flour
  • 2 pieces of eggs
  • 1 package baking powder
  • Half a glass of granulated sugar
  • salt with the tip of 1 teaspoon
  • Half a glass of oil
  • 1 packaged vanilla
  • 1 coffee cup of cocoa
  • Half a glass of powdered sugar for icing the cookies

How to Make Cocoa Crack Cookies Recipe?

  1. Take all the ingredients except the powdered sugar into the mixing bowl, knead until all the ingredients are well mixed.
  2. After a while, the dough will start to fall apart in your hand and will release its oil. In this case, do not add any extra flour.
  3. Gather the dough and wrap it in cling film, put a plate under it and rest in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours, if possible 1 night.
  4. Take the powdered sugar on a plate. Take some small pieces of walnut from the rested dough, roll them in your hand and dust them with powdered sugar. Place them on the baking tray 2-3 cm apart.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.

    Unlike the ones here (for force majeure), I used olive oil. it added a bitter taste. I kept the cooking time for 10 more minutes, and that mild softness in it gave way to a hard biscuit. After making the dough, I left it for 2 hours. I'll make you wait longer next time. I put coconut in it, it added a light aroma. the result is not too bad. Goes well with coffee :)

    Hello there ;
    First of all, I would like to thank you for your recipes, effort and tastes. I am married for 4 months. I am not very good at cooking. I tried the cracked cookie recipe yesterday. However, it was not as it appeared in the picture + when we first started eating it, it was hard in the mouth. But it tastes good. Because I want to try your recipe again. I accidentally put the vanilla with mastic gum. I recommend it, it's a different good taste. Thanks in advance, take it easy :)

      Hello Tugba, first of all thank you very much for this nice comment. I attribute this to the difference in material, but I can't recommend a brand right now because I don't remember the brand I used. The cookie is cracking because it is hard. I'm thinking of preparing it again soon and adding the production stages to the recipe.

    I ate a wonderful cookie years ago, but I never had the chance to make it, I want to ask something, I will make it and send it to my son's kindergarten (50 Children) for the domestic goods week, naturally it should be enough for the whole school, would it taste the same if I doubled all the ingredients and made it?

    I made it with the same recipe and it turned out very well; but after it cooled down, its consistency was as if it were five or six days old cookies. I don't understand why. It looks stale right now.

    I tried the same recipe with chocolate grains and lots of crushed hazelnuts instead of cocoa. It was delicious too. I recommend chopping and using your favorite brand of dark chocolate instead of chocolate chips.

    The cookies were really delicious. If you have diabetes at home, you can make some of it without powdered sugar. Also, since the consistency of mine is not as watery as described, I added a little milk to thicken it. I think the stiffness may be due to the size of the glass of water.

    Now I took it out of the oven, it looks delicious. I'm waiting for it to cool :) although I couldn't resist and ate someone hot, it tastes very good, and if it gets a little softer when it cools, it will be just like I got it from the patisserie :D Thank you very much for the recipe :)

    I made half of the dough yesterday without resting and it was great.. But I kept the remaining half of the dough for 1 night according to the recipe and when I tried to make it today, the dough was very soggy and could not be shaped by hand. My humble advice is that you can make it immediately without resting.. I put extra rum and walnuts in it and it was great. . thanks for the recipe.

      Hello, a few issues stuck in my head;
      1- My dough stuck to my hands too much, I kept it in the fridge for 3 hours. Lastly, I got my hand a little wet so that it wouldn't stick. What is your suggestion?
      2- I took it out of the oven and cooled it, it became soft inside and crunchy outside. Is it supposed to be like this? Isn't that something that falls apart like a regular cookie?
      In general, the appearance and taste are good, but I was not sure about these points. Thanks :)

    I've been a follower for a long time, but I just found the opportunity to comment :) As you said, I kept the cookie waiting overnight, as you said, it stuck to my hand when it was first shaped, I guess I couldn't manage it, but the smell and appearance of it while baking in the oven is very pleasant and it tastes super :) thank you for your nice recipes...

    I made it and the taste was very speR
    My wife doesn't eat, she chooses flavor, even if she likes it, believe me, it means it's beautiful :)(:
    however; I cooked it at 35 degrees for 170 minutes by mistake, but I realized that it was not working :)(:
    I just suggest you to put the other ingredients after whisking the sugar and egg together, because sugar comes to our mouth while we eat,,,
    It's not a bad taste, but I think other would be better,
    Thank you for the recipe ;)(;

    Hello,

    I can always make the recipes you publish by keeping them very good, but this cookie turned out to be very hard after it was baked and the sugar on it unfortunately did not stay that white, it was always drunk.

    As you say, I made the dough, it didn't release much oil as you said, even the dough was dry, I could hardly knead it, do not melt it when I mix it with powdered sugar and rub it? I will share the result with you if I can fix it.
