When I woke up, the house was filled with the sweet smell of kadayıf. When I enter the kitchen, I see my grandmother carefully decorating a tray of kadayif fresh out of the oven. Once we have breakfast, I look forward to buying a slice and tasting it.

It is impossible to describe this taste because for me, kadayıf dessert is the unique taste of my childhood. 

This holiday is when we remember the old times and come together with our loved ones. May it be like the old holidays.

Ingredients for Kadayif Dessert Recipe (in Cake Mold)

  • 300 g raw wire kadayif 
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup Pistachio pieces 

For sherbet:

  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3,5 water glass of water
  • Quarter lemon juice (the peel will be thrown into the syrup)

How to Make Kadayif Dessert Recipe (in Cake Mold)?

  1. For the syrup, put the sugar and water in the pot. Boil for 10 minutes on medium heat until it thickens. Add lemon juice, boil for another 5 minutes and remove the syrup from the stove and let it cool.
  2. Shred the wire kadayıf with your hands, break it off from time to time and use a knife to make the wires a little smaller.
  3. Pour the melted butter on the kadayif, mix it by airing with your hand and ensure that the whole kadayif is lubricated.
  4. Take half of the prepared kadayıf into the cake mold and press it into place.
  5. Distribute the pistachios evenly over the kadayıf. Spread the remaining wire kadayif on top.
  6. Bake the kadayıf in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until golden brown (about 30-35 minutes).  
  7. Let the hot dessert you take out of the oven rest for 1-2 minutes and pour the cold sherbet over it. 
  8. Drain the sweet sherbet and let it rest until it cools. Remove from the mold, decorate and serve.
