Holiday Dessert: Ingredients for Burma Baklava Recipe
- Half a kilo of flour (sifted)
- 3 pieces of eggs
- 1 tea glass of milk
- 1 teaspoons of oil
- A pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons of yogurt
To open the dough:
- Starch (wheat starch)
For inside:
- 500 g crushed walnuts
For the above:
- 1 cup of oil or 1 cup of butter
For the syrup:
- 5 cup powdered sugar
- 4 water glass of water
- juice of half a lemon
Fabrication:
- Take the sugar and water into the stove and when the sugar melts completely and the water starts to thicken, add the lemon juice. After boiling for another 4-5 minutes, remove from the stove and leave to cool.
- Take the flour and all the remaining ingredients into the kneading bowl and knead until you get a dough like an earlobe.
- Approximately 25-30 meringues will come out of the dough you have prepared, roll these meringues in your hand and put them on the counter and cover them with a cloth. Let it rest like this for about half an hour.
- Sprinkle starch on the counter and roll out the meringues to the size of a tray with a rolling pin. Sprinkle crushed walnuts on the dough and roll it into a rolling pin.
- Shrink the rolled dough from both sides of the rolling pin towards the middle. Gently remove from rolling pin without tearing or opening. Arrange on the greased tray starting from the middle. Do the same process for all phyllo sheets one by one.
- Drizzle the oil over the baklava. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until golden brown. As soon as you take it out of the oven, pour the cold syrup on it. Serve when the syrup is done.
