Ingredients for Poppy Turkish Delight Recipe

  • 5 cups of flour (if necessary + 1 more cup of tea)
  • 1 glass of warm water
  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • half a teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 pack of instant yeast (10 g)
  • 1 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 tea spoon salt

Inner material:

  • 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
  • Half tea glass of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • Walnut crackers upon request

How to Make Poppy Turkish Delight Recipe?

  1. Take warm water and milk in a deep mixing bowl. Add yeast and sugar to it and mix.
  2. Add 5 glasses of flour, half a tea glass of olive oil and salt to the kneading bowl and knead a soft dough. (If the dough is too sticky at this point, you can add up to 1 teaspoon of flour little by little)
  3. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 35-40 minutes.
  4. Gently knead the fermented dough and degas it. Roll out the dough you took on the oiled counter with the help of a rolling pin in a half-cm thick rectangle.
  5. Spread the poppy paste mixed with olive oil on the rolled dough with your hands, sprinkle with walnuts if desired and make a roll. Cut the roll into equal parts (3,5-4 cm is enough).
  6. Arrange the sliced ​​pieces side by side on the tray or circle mold you greased.
  7. Cover and rest for 5-10 minutes.
  8. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until golden brown. Take it out of the container when it cools down and serve.
