Hello Dear Friends,

While the first video of our Gaziantep trip was on the air, I started to prepare my article, which I will complete with the second part. We had bought our ticket (at an affordable price) months in advance and made our hotel reservation. At first, we thought of renting a car, but we gave up on renting a car, both with the questions I asked on social media and the answers we received from our friends who had gone before. Most of the places we visited were pretty close. We took a taxi for the remaining places. When many taxi drivers realize that you are already a tourist, they give you their card. You can even negotiate with some of them and go on tour. They also organize Urfa tours from Gaziantep. The prices are fixed, you can go for 2 or 4 or 6 people and make the trip cheaper.

Tahmis Coffee

As soon as we got off the plane, we immediately took the road to our first stop, Metanet. We rushed to Gaziantep because they said that Beyran would end by noon, but now there are places that make beyran in the afternoon or even all day. Master Ökkeş hosted us very well there, we ate not only beyran but also our katmer at Metanet Katmer. Moreover, I did not just eat, I went into the kitchen and prepared my own katmer together with Gültekin master.

From there, we hit the road towards Bakırcılar Bazaar, which is almost 2-3 streets ahead. Its historical texture and the sounds of copper tattoos rising from the surrounding took us on an incredible journey. We went in and out of many shops, and we shopped from the ones we liked. The thing that caught our attention the most was the doorknobs. In the past, two kinds of knockers were made for doors. They knew who was at the door, one of which was large, with a louder sound used by men, and the other with a smaller and thinner sound for women.

Of course, there are not only coppersmiths in the bazaar, but Uncle Kenan, whom we met thanks to the amulets that caught my attention on the counter, gave us a lot of information about both amulets and spices. The amulets with alum stones on them and made with oleander branches were really beautiful. We even talked a bit about casting lead for the evil eye. I will definitely try the Haveydi Meatballs he told :)

After completing our program today, we will have our coffee the next day. Tahmis CoffeeFamous for drinking and tasting kebabs in , and getting tips from Mikail Usta Imam CagdassWe will stop by. Is that all? Not. Kunefe makers, scavengers Then, Antep's fasil entertainment surprise awaits you.

The rest of the article is coming soon :)

Stay tuned!
