Homemade Blackberry Jam
Hello Dear Friends,
When I saw the blackberry-filled stalls at the market this week, I couldn't resist and bought some. I love making and eating the jam of blackberry, which I cannot eat fresh due to its sourness. Of course, the fact that it is very practical also has an effect on this.
Since we are 2 people and we don't have breakfast as a crowd, I usually make jams from 500 gr. Thus, instead of spending the winter with a single jam, I have the opportunity to try different varieties.
There are some important points to consider when making blackberry jam. The first of these is to choose fruits that are as fresh and not crushed as possible. The other point is not to exceed the time given while boiling. Jam may seem watery to you, but because of the pectin it contains, it thickens a lot as it cools. Finally, be careful not to crush the fruits while mixing the jam, if you wish, you can shake the pot from time to time without inserting a spoon.

Ingredients for Homemade Blackberry Jam Recipe
- 500 g blackberries
- 500 gr granulated sugar
- juice of half a lemon
- 2 cloves
How to Make Homemade Blackberry Jam Recipe?
- Wash and drain the blackberries. Pour half the sugar into a medium saucepan and spread the blackberries over it. Pour remaining sugar over blackberries.
- Soak in sugar for 1 night to let the blackberries release their juices.
- Take the pot in the middle of the stove, add the cloves. Cook on low heat for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally (It will be enough to hold the pot by the handles and shake it so that the blackberries are not crushed.)
- Add lemon juice to the thickened jam. Mix and boil for another 1-2 minutes and remove from the stove.
- Put it in a hot jar and turn it upside down with the lid tightly closed. Wait until it cools and vacuums. Store in a place out of direct sunlight.
