My late grandmother's favorite jams Quince and plum jams. In the fall, before the time of the plums passed, he would buy a lot and make jars of jam for the winter. When I was a child, I watched him prepare the plums at night and put them in sugar, and in the morning I was amazed to see the same plums swimming in water.

jam making

It seemed to me that it took hours for him to boil the jam, though it took a very short time. Today, while I was making the jam, it smelled so much that I felt like I was in his kitchen.

How smells and tastes take you to memories :)

Jam Making

Make a lot of jam from your favorite fruits without wasting time, as winter is coming.

Last week, I made banana marmalade and a banana poppy cake from the same marmalade. I'll post the recipe for you tomorrow. love.

Ingredients for Plum Jam Recipe

  • 1 kilo of damson plums
  • 1 kilo of granulated sugar
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 4-5 pieces of cloves

How to Make Plum Jam Recipe?

  1. Plums are washed and pitted and chopped as in the photo. The chopped plums are put in the pot to make jam, one layer of plums and one layer of sugar.
  2. After 3-4 hours, when the sugar melts and the plums are well watered, the jam is started to be cooked on medium heat.
  3. Stir the jam until the sugar is completely dissolved. Afterwards, the foams are removed by stirring occasionally.
  4. When the jam starts to thicken, add lemon juice. It takes about 30-40 minutes. If you like it more dense, you can extend the time.

hello, thanks to the plum jam made by my friend, I met this jam, the children loved it, but what I want to learn is; How would it be if we peel the plums before making the jam. Their skins come out of the mouth. I would be very grateful if you could inform me. Thank you for all your sharing.

hello, I live abroad too. I brought a plum tree from Turkey and grew it, they have very nice plums, I distributed them to the neighbors and when I was thinking what to do with the leftovers, plum jam came to my mind and I contacted and got information from here, it tasted great, thank you for sharing the wisdom with everyone...
