We were at Kasımpaşa Kastamonu Market last week. Since I started my internship in Kivahan's kitchen, I started to become more and more involved with herbs grown in different parts of Anatolia. In order to try what I learned at home, I went to Kastamonu bazaar and bought lots of herbs and breakfast.

Çiriş, gentian, zahter, nettle, tarragon, basil, coriander and hibiscus I learn how to use herbs such as, how to cook the most delicious meals from real masters by personally applying them.

Ingredients for Hibiscus Bulgur Pilaf Recipe

  • 1 cup bulgur wheat
  • 1,5 tablespoons of tomato or pepper paste
    (1 grated tomato instead of tomato paste if you want)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cups hot broth
  • 2 spoonful butter
  • 15-20 leaves of hibiscus
  • salt

How to Make Hibiscus Bulgur Pilaf Recipe?

  1. Chop the onion for cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan and add the onions and fry them lightly. Wash the bulgur in 1-2 waters and drain.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes or tomato paste on it, after frying a little, add the hibiscus that you sorted and chopped.
  3. Add bulgur to the hibiscus and stir 1-2 times. Add water to the bulgur and cook on low heat until the bulgur absorbs its water.
  4. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes with the lid of the pot closed and serve.
