Hibiscus Bulgur Rice
We were at Kasımpaşa Kastamonu Market last week. Since I started my internship in Kivahan's kitchen, I started to become more and more involved with herbs grown in different parts of Anatolia. In order to try what I learned at home, I went to Kastamonu bazaar and bought lots of herbs and breakfast.

Ingredients for Hibiscus Bulgur Pilaf Recipe
- 1 cup bulgur wheat
- 1,5 tablespoons of tomato or pepper paste
(1 grated tomato instead of tomato paste if you want) - 1 medium onion
- 2 cups hot broth
- 2 spoonful butter
- 15-20 leaves of hibiscus
- salt
How to Make Hibiscus Bulgur Pilaf Recipe?
- Chop the onion for cooking, melt the butter in a medium saucepan and add the onions and fry them lightly. Wash the bulgur in 1-2 waters and drain.
- Add chopped tomatoes or tomato paste on it, after frying a little, add the hibiscus that you sorted and chopped.
- Add bulgur to the hibiscus and stir 1-2 times. Add water to the bulgur and cook on low heat until the bulgur absorbs its water.
- Let it rest for 10-15 minutes with the lid of the pot closed and serve.
