Hello Dear Friends,

Our whistle adventures continue :) from artichokes, easy red lentil soup, from pea broccoli soup to boil corn I tried so many recipes. It helps me a lot, especially when cooking artichokes that I took out of the freezer. (Artichoke recipe will come later :) But I still get a little nervous when cooking with pressure cooker.

I've used gradual etc. before, but I couldn't get as hot as the 5 liter small and cheap pressure cooker I bought from the market last year. I think it's small gives some confidence :)

dry bean recipes

I'm one of those who like dried beans without meat. I eat mostly sausage or pastrami. It's been a long time too. In the past weeks, we came across the local products festival at Sirkeci Station. I bought some little things. Since the side bench was so proud, I decided to buy some Ispir Beans. These beans, also known as sugar beans, are much tastier than normal, dermason beans, in my opinion.

Now the main issue is the cooking time of the beans in the pressure cooker. I've read quite a bit about this. Everyone has a different time. Although the average is like 20 minutes, the type of bean has an incredible effect on this time. In fact, if the pulses are past the year, they can be cooked even harder. Sometimes it can fall apart.

My dried beans, which I soaked the night before, were cooked in full consistency in exactly 15 minutes without falling apart. In particular, I called my aunt and asked her before cooking, and she said that her own beans were cooked in 8 minutes.

Just in case, I cooked it for 10 minutes after the first hiss, but it remained alive. For this reason, I closed the pressure cooker again and kept it for another 5 minutes after the first steam escape, and it was in full consistency without being crushed.

Make sure to set the bottom of the cooker to the lowest after the first steam release so that the bean pods do not fall out.

Also, remember that cooking times vary from brand to brand. Once you have the taste and duration, continue with the same brand.

By the way, my Rice Pilaf recipe is in the link for those who say what goes with a rice pilaf :) You can access it by clicking here.
