When the weather got cold for 1 day, we immediately fell for pulses 😄 noodle rice ve with a twig I prepared a classic but delicious menu. I did not share a meaty chickpea recipe on my blog because I was afraid to use pressure cooker for years. 

Although the cooking time depends on the chickpea type, 25 minutes is mine. chickpeas and meat were cooked perfectly. Now keep in mind, because your food is not cooked for a long time in the pot, it is not always possible for the water to acquire a dense consistency. That's why it looks watery. 1 tablespoon of flour you add after frying the tomato paste gives it a wonderful consistency.

As you know, I always keep boiled chickpeas in the freezer. That's how I wet it a lot. I made the measurement by taking 2,5 water glasses from the chickpeas that I had soaked before.

Ingredients for the Recipe for Chickpea with Meat in Pressure

  • 250 g of cubed meat
  • 2,5 cups of ram chickpeas soaked 1 night before
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato +1 tablespoon of pepper paste
  • 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoons of flour
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 3-5 glasses of hot water

Fabrication: 

  1. Chop the onion for cooking and put it in the pot with the oil. Fry the onions until they are slightly translucent.
  2. Add the meat and fry until it releases its juices.
  3. Add the garlic and fry. Finally, add the flour and fry it.
  4. Add chickpeas and water and mix. Add salt and turn off the pressure cooker.
  5. After the whistle blows, cook on the meat level for 25 minutes.
  6. Cover the bottom, open when the pressure is completely released and serve hot.
