A big hello to everyone,

Most of my day was spent in research and development. As the oven worked, the kitchen became like a sauna you know :)

After working so hard, I decided to reward myself. Since I was thinking of preparing a practical menu consisting of soup, meatballs, salad and rice for iftar, I focused on dessert.

Puff pastry is a very flexible material that I like to use in the kitchen. It tastes as good as sweet as it is salty. Whatever you add to it, something beautiful comes out at the end.

You can prepare a fresh summer cake with a practical pastry cream and ice cream that you will prepare at home. You can decorate this recipe with seasonal fruits or you can spice it up with fruit sauces like I did.

I advise you to prepare and consume this dessert daily, because it is not very pleasant to eat when the puff pastry is waiting.

Ingredients for Ice Cream Puff Pastry Recipe

  • 9 square puff pastry dough

For the Pastry Cream:

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 packet of vanillin with sugar
  • 2,5 water glass milk
  • 1,5 tea glass of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 tablespoons of starch
  • 1 tablespoons butter or margarine

For service:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Mixed Fruit Sauce
  • 2 scoop of ice cream per serving

How to Make Ice Cream Puff Pastry Recipe?

  1. Take the puff pastry out of the freezer to soften.
  2. Put egg yolk, milk, sugar, flour, starch and vanillin in a small Teflon saucepan and whisk well.
  3. When it is completely mixed, take it to the stove and cook it on medium heat until it has a thicker consistency than the pudding.
  4. Remove the cooked cream from the heat and add the butter. Bring to room temperature with mixer. Cover with cling film and rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  5. Divide the softened puff pastry dough into two halves, make holes on it with a fork and place 1 cm apart on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until it swells and turns brown.
  7. Squeeze the cream with the whipped cream bag, which is doubled as the puff pastry. Sprinkle powdered sugar on the 2rd layer and drizzle with fruit sauce.
  8. Serve each cake with 2 scoops of ice cream.
