  • 2 glasses of milk or (1 glass of water + 1 glass of milk)

How to Make Semolina Halva with Ice Cream Recipe?

  1. Put the milk and sugar in a small saucepan, heat by stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar has melted, take it off the heat.
  2. Put the butter in a flat pan and add the peanuts in it. Mix the peanuts and semolina with the help of a wooden spoon over medium heat until the color becomes darker.
  3. When the semolina reaches the color you want, add milk. But be careful because it gets pretty hot. Cook on low heat until the semolina melts into the milk.
  4. Take it off the heat and mix it 1-2 times, when it is well on top of it like rice.
  5. Let the pot brew for 10-15 minutes with the lid closed.
  6. Lightly wet a small bowl. Take a few spoons of the semolina that has been brewed and cooled, put it in a bowl, press it to the sides and make a hole in the middle.
  7. Put your ice cream in the hole you opened and cover it with semolina. Serve by inverting the bowl onto a serving plate.

Is it okay if the ice cream stays in the freezer until it melts? How is halva frozen?

No, you have to prepare it just before serving.

Ms. Nilay, congratulations on your hands. I'm craving sweets tonight, so I thought I'd make it out of it. I used 1 glass of water + 1 glass of milk. I reduced the butter a little. I roasted the semolina with walnuts. It was quite delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

If you are going to make it with ice cream, the ice creams can melt. When made with ice cream, they should be served soon, but otherwise, nothing will happen to the halva. If you want to make the halva and add the ice cream later, you will be risking the dessert because the halva is hardened :)

I have made semolina halva many times, but it did not taste the way I wanted. I'm going to try this recipe, but there is one point that sticks in my mind: the portion until the semolina reaches the color we want. How long do you roast with the amount of ingredients given in the recipe? 15 minutes or half an hour? Or is it better if you roast it without burning it?

Hello, Kirazzade, if you follow the recipe exactly and roast your semolina well and rest it after adding milk, your semolina will be grainy. You can also cook your dessert in a Teflon and glass-lidded pot to make sure it cooks well. Love…
