Ingredients for Walnut and Fig Jam Recipe

  • 1 kg semi-ripe figs
  • 1 kg of granulated sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of butter
  • 1 cup of walnuts
  • 1 tea glass of water

How to Make Walnut and Fig Jam Recipe?

  1. Wash the figs, cut their stems and pierce them in 2-3 places with a toothpick.
  2. Put the figs in the pot, pour in the sugar, cover the pot and let it sit for 1 night.
  3. If it does not release much water, add 1 tea glass of water, add the butter and cook over low heat (stirring very little and carefully) until the jam thickens.
  4. When the jam starts to thicken, add the walnuts.
  5. 5 minutes before taking it off the stove, add the juice of half a lemon and bring it to a boil, then remove it from the heat.
  6. Divide it into hot jars. After the jars have cooled, tightly cover them and store them in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

I followed the recipe exactly and it was perfect. The recipe is very good. I recommend everyone to try it. I think the sugar content is very good.

I made it in full size and my figs were not too sweet, but with the amount of sugar given, they were too sweet. I tried hard to thin them out.
