What are the Tips for Cooking Pasta?
Release Date: 25-04-2012
The new topic of the culinary school is the tricks of delicious pasta. The reason why I chose this subject is that cooking pasta is an art, even if it seems easy. When you try the pasta that you love to eat in restaurants at home, you will not be able to catch the same taste. Here is an opportunity for you…
- Make sure to use a deep pan that is wide enough for the amount of pasta you will use. Pasta water should not exceed ¾ of the pot you are using or it should not be less.
- Apart from plain water, you can also boil pasta with meat, chicken and fish juices that you will prepare at home for more delicious pasta. You can also add milk if you want.
- Add the salt immediately after the pasta water boils. 4 teaspoon of salt will be enough for 1 glasses of water. After adding the salt, turn the water down.
- You can add 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or olive oil to prevent the pasta from sticking while cooking. If the pot is not suitable or the water is low, it will be a savior.
- The cooking time of each brand and each type of pasta is different. Therefore, always follow the cooking time on the back of the package. If the cooking time is not written, you can understand whether it is cooked by checking it with a fork between 8-12 minutes.
- Delicious pasta is neither undercooked nor overcooked. Al dente consistency is best. In this consistency, the outside of the pasta is slightly toothy for soft.
- It will taste better if you cook your pasta just before serving.
- If you separate some of the pasta water while straining the pasta, you can use it to flavor and dilute the sauces you have prepared.
- Even if the pasta is drained, it continues to cook with its own temperature, so I recommend cooking the sauce at the same time as the pasta. Thus, it can be served in no time.
